* Travel Insurance is Highly Recommended:  It is highly recommended that you purchase your comfort level of travel insurance. With the uncertainty that comes with traveling to foreign countries, it is best to be prepared in case of disruption for whatever reason. However, this is your own personal choice. Protecting your journey investment, property, flight investments and well-being is a smart decision and highly advised.

Travel insurance options you would benefit from purchasing, but not limited to: journey cost, journey cancellation and interruption, loss due to unforeseen circumstances, death, injury, illness, missed connections due to weather, lost deposits due to financial default of airlines, tour operator or cruise line, baggage delays, travel delays, medical expenses and emergency assistance. Please read your options and terms carefully when considering your level of comfort in purchasing your travel insurance needs.

** Miscellaneous Notes of Flights and Travel:

Airline Itineraries/Tickets:  Please be advised that everyone must make plans for their departing planes as follows (after the trip is complete):

1) You will be transferred back to the Lima Airport for final departures.

2)  All flights must be made to depart after 6 PM on the final day. Any earlier will cause a problem because we have to travel back to Lima that morning. This means that flights must be after 6:30 PM on October 9th  or very early morning on October 10th. Most flights are after 10PM and around 1AM.  If you choose to leave during the day on August 22nd, please plan to pay extra for an additional night hotel stay.

Altitude Sickness:  For most people the altitude causes headaches and nausea. Some more then others. We have the trip planned to try and help minimize this. Time is the best healer. Also Coca Tea is a big help. All the hotels in Cusco and the Andes will have this. It is a pleasant tea and sipping this along with easing into the activities usually does the trick. Most people do not have serious problems until over 15,000 feet which we will not be near. Machu Picchu is around 11,900 and some points that we will be visiting will be around 12,400. For some people a couple of aspirins is all they need. There are prescriptions for this as well if you would like to contact your doctor in advance for recommendations.  Let's put our minds to feeling perfect no matter what the altitude is... and of course, meditation always helps!
